On March 31, 2026, the ODCC Spring Plenary Network Working Group meeting was successfully held in Zhoushan, Zhejiang, chaired by Zekun He, leader of the ODCC Network Working Group and Director of the Tencent Basic Network Center. Experts from Tencent, Alibaba, Huawei, Baidu, ZTE, Intel and CAICT gathered for in-depth discussion on frontier optical interconnect technologies including NPO, UPO and OCS, and core directions for intelligent-computing networks — injecting new momentum into network development in the AI large-model era.
To fully unleash the potential of computing centers and AI clusters, meet the urgent demand for high-bandwidth, low-latency, energy-efficient interconnect in emerging AI applications, and drive high-quality development of the optical switching industry, expert representatives from Tencent, CAICT, Birentech, Huawei, ZTE, Accelink, Huaqin, Inspur and Triple-Stone jointly launched the OCS Focus Group and initiated the compilation of the OCS Development Analysis Report.
Going forward, the OCS Focus Group will focus on all-optical switching computing-center solution research, standard formulation, test validation and ecosystem building, accelerating the transformation of results into an open, collaborative, standards-unified all-optical switching ecosystem — establishing all-optical switching as a core technology for next-generation computing centers and computing networks, and solidifying the foundation for the AI large-model era.
